So, I started the steps of the game. Here they are. Enter the elevator from the first floor by yourself. If anyone else gets on then understand that you cannot continue from the first floor and wait until the elevator can be taken alone. Press the button for the fourth floor. Do not get out when the elevator reaches the fourth floor.

Take the elevators..out of hell!

Elevators from Hel is actually a puzzler with its dose of action; the idea is this; you have to figure out the proper order, sequence and timing to get out of the pits of hell, by making sure you take the proper elevators, to the right area, while staying away from the evil creatures that lurk about. The Robo guards, that patrol the area where the elevator shafts are, have predetermined areas of patrol, and so, your best bet is to take a moment and see how they go about; take your time, and only when you're sure you've found the right moment to go on a spree, then go for it! There is some uncertainty to the game, as calling an elevator, pushing the elevator button can call either the left or the right hand elevator, so you're never really sure if you are going to get the elevator you were hoping for! But, well, it's the game, and if you want to escape, you have to take your chances! So, have a go at this, if you like kind of random action/puzzle games, that do, have a certain dose of strategy about them! Or, else, download Elevator, very similar in style, but with fewer gameplay mechanics that hinge on chance!

Description of Elevators from Hell

Elevator from Hell is a great fanmade PC version of Taito's underrated coin-op classic Elevator Action.

Similar to the arcade version, the game is difficult, frustrating, and addictive. Your goal is to collect all the tokens from seven floors in a building, then make your way to the exit on the first floor. You can use elevators on both ends of the floor to move between floors - but the robo-guard which is hunting you down can also use them. The game is not as difficult as Elevator Action because you only need to avoid one robo-guard, as opposed to dealing with enemies that pop out from closed doors. But it is still challenging, since the robo-guard is 'intelligent' enough to wait until you select the next destination, to choose that same floor to intercept you. Controls are very easy - just use the number keys - and the graphics is amateurish but adequate.

All in all, a nice oldie coffee break game that still retains all the charm over a decade later.
