Ways to Boot Into Recovery Mode on Windows 10

There are numerous ways to access recovery options. You can choose your preferred method. Here are they-

1. From Windows 10 Settings

It is the easiest way to access the recovery window. This option is only applicable to Windows 10. By the way, Here are the instructions.

  • At first, Open Settings in Windows 10. You can open the start menu and click on the gear icon. Or, Press Win + I key on the keyboard to open it.
  • After that, Go to Update & Security > Recovery.
  • Then, Click on the Restart Now button under the advanced startup section.
  • Wait for a few seconds. It will show you the recovery options.

In the recovery environment, you will often need to use advanced features for various reasons. Here are some instructions to use advanced options.

  • In the recovery window, click on Troubleshoot.
  • Then, Click on Advanced Options.
  • Now, You will see a list of options like System Restore, Startup Repair, Uninstall Updates, System Image Recovery, Command Prompt, UEFI Firmware etc. You can use them by clicking on them.

Startup Settings:

  • You will also see “See more recovery options” in the Advanced Options window. Just click on it.
  • Now, You should see “Startup Settings.” Just click on it and restart your PC to access the advanced startup settings.

  1. Booting into safe mode (With or without command prompt)
  2. Enabling debugging
  3. Disabling driver signature enforcement, antimalware protection, automatic restart after failure etc.

2. Press and Hold Shift Method

If you can restart Windows 10 by pressing on Shift key on the keyboard, it will also give you access to the recovery environment. You can do it directly from the desktop or login screen. Here are the instructions.
